Program objectives:
Aims of the program are to:
1. Assure capacity building ofspecialists employed in aviation sector by better understanding of business processes
within the aviation industry;
2. Improve managerial skills and abilities relevant to aviation industry through innovative methods and approaches;
3. Strengthen knowledgethat enables graduate to apply strategic, analytical and problem-solvingthinkingwhich
can be used in complex and changing environments within the aviation industry.
· Has at least 5 year working experience on managerialposition
· Has at least B2 level certificate in English language; In case of absence of the certificate, university shall
administer relevant test
· Has successfully passedspecializationtest administered by the university
Graduate program Aviation Management was planned and developed according to regulation “Implementation of higher educational programs” (Paragraph 3–planning-development of educational program and submitting for accreditation, items 9,10,11,12) of Georgian Aviation University, though participation of all stakeholders. Based on the regulation, following aspects have been considered during planning and development of the educational program:
requirements of the labour market,localand international experience. Procedures and regulation of program development, approval, Revision and cancelation that include basic principles of program planning, development and all related processes are employed during development of the current program. Program assessment criteria, which determines detailed requirements related to every important structural aspect of the program, were considered during program development. Volume of the program is 60 ECTS credits, its content is relevant to requirements set by National Qualification Framework towards graduate level. Content and structure of the program is relevant to awarding qualification and assures reaching learning outcomes. Program is appendices by study plan that sets relationship between aims and
learning outcomes of the program, also between study courses and learning outcomes of the program. Study plan of the program considers 3 trimesters. Each trimester lasts for 15 weeks. 5 weeks of education, followed by 2 weeks of mid-term, another 5 weeks of education followed by 3 weeks of final exams (final and
additional). 45credits are distributed among study courses during first two trimesters. Third trimester considers research implementation, development and defense of Master thesis (15Credits). Study courses give student deep knowledge, relevant to acquirable qualification and field of aviationmanagement, oriented to enhance current knowledge and skills with modest aspects of the field and reach learning outcomes set by the program.Program includes a unique combination of aviation related modules and general managementcourseswhich are contextualized within the aviation industry.Program grants student an opportunityto step back from operational role and benefit from interaction with other managers within the aviation sector, allowing time to explore current ideas and latest thinking in the aviation industry. Sequence and pre-requisites of the componentsare set logically in the structure of the program. Components have logical links, are targeted to reaching the aims and outcomes of the program, and preconditions assure consistent accumulation of the knowledge.

New regulation that has entered into force has stimulated development of 1-year Graduate degree educational program Aviation Management. 1-year program is designed for applicants with working experience at managerial position for at least 5 years and has targeted own enhancement of own educational level. 1-year program is considered to be more attractive to such applicants, in means of duration and study components. Two market research documents were used as a justification for program development. one made in 2022 that clearly shows situation of the civil aviation sector and job market, and second one overviewing year of 2023 (Attachment 10).Earlier report shows processes ongoing within civil aviation field, volume of the passengers was compared to the pre-pandemic data in order to determine status of improvement and visualize future perspectives. Fresh report was made to measure current situation and compare with post-pandemic data in order to determine growth indicator, new labor market was performed that clearly indicates volume of the civil aviation according to 2023 and rating of its growth through comparing to with relevant data of the previous years. Program has passed evaluation process of the quality assurance service of the university, though consultations with the program supervisor. After its positive assessment governing board has approved educational program, which means that: Volume and complexity of the program is relevant to academic level; Content of the program considerspre-requisites; Content and structure of the program is relevant to awarding qualification and assures reaching determined learning outcomes; Program is designed according to legislation of Georgia in relevance with European credit transfer system; Learning outcomes of study courses have determined leaning outcomes of the educational program; each of them develops skills and abilities relevant to Graduate academic level, whereas each skill and ability is developed in logic and consequent order. Interference between aims and learning outcomes of the program assure development of Graduate level learning outcomes, determined by Higher Education Qualifications Framework.
