Georgian Aviation University participated in the EAIE 36th Annual Conference and Exhibition, which was held from September 8 to 11, 2026, in Glasgow, Scotland. The EAIE is Europe’s largest international higher education conference and one of the leading global platforms for universities and organizations working in the field of international education. This year’s event brought together more than 7,300 international education professionals from approximately 1,200 organizations and 107 countries, providing participants with extensive opportunities to establish professional connections, exchange experience, and develop new international partnerships.

Georgia was represented at the conference by 12 higher education institutions, including Georgian Aviation University. During the conference, GAU representatives – First Deputy Rector Davit Tepnadze and International Relations Manager Tsotne Iashvili – held meetings with representatives of more than 30 universities and educational institutions, primarily from European countries. The meetings aimed to introduce Georgian Aviation University, identify areas of common interest, and explore opportunities for future cooperation. Particular attention was given to universities offering educational programs in aviation and aeronautics, engineering, information technology, business, and related fields.

The main areas discussed during the meetings and negotiations included student and academic staff exchange programs, joint research activities, academic cooperation, as well as opportunities to develop joint and dual-degree programs. Georgian Aviation University also initiated discussions with potential partners on cooperation within the framework of Erasmus+ KA171 International Mobility and Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building projects. A number of European universities expressed significant interest in establishing and developing partnership relations with Georgian Aviation University.

Following the conclusion of the conference, GAU will continue communication and negotiations with the universities it met in Glasgow, with the aim of turning the initial agreements reached into concrete partnerships and joint initiatives. Particular attention will be paid to upcoming Erasmus+ funding calls, which will provide important opportunities for implementing new mobility and capacity-building projects with international partners.
