Associate Professor Aria Nazarparvar delivered a one-week master class at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) in Lithuania.

Georgian Aviation University is proud to highlight the recent academic exchange through the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Program, where Associate Professor Aria Nazarparvar delivered a one-week master class at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) in Lithuania.

The master class, titled “Evolution and Future of Propulsion System and Advanced Predictive Maintenance,” was structured in two parts, first examining the progression of propulsion technologies, and then exploring modern maintenance methods and innovative technologies shaping the future of civil aviation.

A core element of the master class was Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP), an innovative concept involving multiple electric motors distributed across an airframe promising enhanced efficiency, safety, and flexibility in aircraft design. The class also covered sustainable energy integration, such as the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in turbo-electric systems, and looked ahead to predictive maintenance strategies driven by fault detection, fault diagnosis, and machine learning.

This initiative aimed to prepare students for the complex demands of future-oriented aviation design and maintenance, especially as sustainability, efficiency, and digital intelligence reshape the industry.

We thank Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and the Erasmus+ program for supporting this collaboration and advancing the global conversation in aviation education.
